Be Mine....

For Valentine's Day this year, we celebrated with food. I can't think of a better way to celebrate. For our Sunday dinner I fixed turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, and green beans, and it was sooo yummy. I made a special cake for Cole for today because he loves fruit and chocolate. So I made a Victorian Strawberry Chocolate Cake. The strawberries on the cake were supposed to be in the shape of a heart but didn't work out so well, but the cake was delish!! Happy Valentine's Day to Cole, the love of my life, and to my little Brook. All my love to my sweet, little family.

Miss Monkey

Brooklyn is really into climbing onto things lately. If it is above her head and looks like a good place to roost, she squeaks and hollers and grunts until she gets up to where she wants to be. This morning while I was fixing her breakfast, I heard her pulling on the kitchen chairs, but I didn't worry about it because I knew she couldn't get on them, or so I thought. That little monkey climbed right up and would have been on the table if I hadn't stopped her. Just when I thought she couldn't be into anything else, now she climbs to reach it. I love my monkey and every time I say to her, "Brook you are the cutest monkey ever!" She puts her hands up to her armpits and makes her monkey sound. Too cute!!

This Little Piggy...

I finally was able to pull Brook's hair up into a little piggy. You can barely see the ten hairs that are in her elastic. But they are there. I can't wait until I can really do some fun things with her hair. She even sat pretty still while I did it. I hope this is a good sign for the future hairdo's.

Santa Baby

I almost forgot about Brook getting her picture taken with Santa Claus. She did really good until he reached for her and then this happened...

Sledding in the New Year

We stayed home for New Years Eve because Brook has had a hard time getting over the flu and a nasty cold. We played games and played on wii. I didn't get any pictures of that but I did get a picture of my little cheeser. You can't tell she's sick in that one, but she had papa's glasses and knew she wasn't supposed too. For New Year's Day, Dad and Ryan went and got the horses and we went sledding around the neighborhood. It was so much fun. Brook even got in the action and looked like the stay puff marshmallow. Too cute!!

My Sleeping Princess

I know I am not the only one who feels like this, but every time I peek in on Brook while she is sleeping I can't help but think I have the sweetest little princess ever. She is soo darn cute and innocent while she sleeps. I love my little monkey!!

Christmas Morning

We started Christmas morning around 1:00 a.m. Brooklyn woke up with the stomach flu and threw up most of the night. We decided since we were already up we might as well open presents around 5:00 a.m. (I think, the lack of sleep had an effect on my memory.) Anyways, even though Brook was so sick throughout the night she loved what she got from Santa. Santa brought her a Fisher Price Learning Table, tub toys, M&M's, and Orange Sticks (her favorite). After playing with her toys from Santa she opened up the rest of her presents. She really had fun and was so excited for everything she got. She even packed around her clothes. We had a great Christmas at Cole's parents house. I felt guilty cause Cole spoiled me so much this year, but I was so excited when I opened my last present and got a Wii Fit. I love it!! I have the best family ever and they are my world. I am so glad Brook felt good enough to open her presents and enjoy Christmas.

Smith Family Christmas Party

This year our family had our Christmas party two weeks before Christmas Day. I don't know why, but for some reason I had a hard time feeling like it was Christmas time this year. All of my family were able to make it to the party and we all went to church together that day too. It has been a long time since our whole family has been able to make it to sacrament meeting together, but it was nice to have everyone there. After church, my mom fixed up the most yummy dinner. The kids were all so anxious to open their presents and Brook even got into it a little bit. After all of the gift giving we played King Elephant and had so much fun. I laughed so hard that my abs were pretty sore the next day. I was sad to see everyone leave after the festivities, but we all had a great time.

Sugar Baby!

Brooklyn will totally scream and yell if she sees any type of candy or sweets in hopes that you will give in and give her some. Grandma Smith always gives in to her squeaking and gives her what she wants. So, one night while I was busy wrapping presents, I came upstairs to find Grandma and Brooklyn whispering in the kitchen. This is the aftermath...

Christmas Card Drama

Lately it has been really hard to get a picture of Brook cause she is so interested in the camera. But, I decided to try and get some pictures for our Christmas card. It was hard for me not to laugh because she was being so dramatic. She had me and her Grandpa and Grandma Smith all trying to get her to smile and she was totally not having it. We decided to take a break and did more pictures later that day and finally got some good ones to use for the card. Hope I didn't miss anyone as I was rushing to get them out. If I did I am so sorry. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!

Mom's Birthday

This year for mom's birthday I made her a giant oreo cookie. It was still a cake ,but oh soo good!

Yummy chocolate!

I have the cutest mom ever!!!

Kids Table

Adult Table
This year we had Thanksgiving with my family and had so much fun. Brooklyn is loving the older cousins and trying to copy everything they do. Mom made such a yummy dinner and set the tables. There was a cute snowman table for the kids and a much more elegant table for the adults, set with my great grandmas china. Everything was amazing. Good fun and lots of fun. I love my family!!

Job Update

Last week our prayers were answered. Cole got a call from the apprenticeship and he was called back to work after being laid off. He started work in Salt Lake on Thursday and worked there again today. The company he is working for said he could be jumping around quite a bit, so we decided that Brook and I will stay with my parents in Grace and he'll move around until we know more. Boy am I grateful for that decision. He called on his lunch break and they are now sending him to Smithfield to work. Now he will be able to stay with us full time (YAY!) and drive the 45 minuts to work. We are so grateful for his job right now with the construction industry being so up and down. Well, that's the update for now. We'll let you know what's going on when he gets his next transfer.

What a Stinker!

We were in Salt Lake over the weekend for Cole's classes so we took Brooklyn trick or treating to our Aunt and Uncle's house. She was so funny walking around in her little costume, but every time we got the camera out she pulled some of the funniest faces. I had a hard time getting a picture of our little stinker smiling. Here are some of the pictures we did get.
