Pierced Ears

My poor, sweet, unsuspecting little princess.

Brynlee keeping a close eye on the ear piercing. She was trying to talk Steph into letting her get her ears pierced even after watching Brooklyn get hers done.

Ow!!

Last week, I took Brooklyn into Logan and got her ears pierced. It wasn't nearly as traumatic as I had thought it might be. She cried for just a second and then was fine. She has played and laughed ever since like it never happened. We got her birthstones for her earrings and they are so cute.

Bath Time Babies

Brooklyn absolutely loves her bath time. We went and spent four days at Stephanie's and while we were there she loved playing in the tub with her cousin Hallie who is about ten months older than Brooklyn.

Cheesecake....Yummy!

I attempted to make my first ever cheesecake, from scratch that is. It was for my sister, Stephanie's birthday. She wouldn't let me take pictures of her, but I do have some of the yummy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake I made. I would say it was a definite success.

The Birthday Boy

My dad's birthday was on April 17th. I tried to fix him his favorite dinner but he said he wanted whatever was easiest, maybe a bowl of cold cereal. I did, however, make his favorite, angel food cake. He is so giving and always thinking of others, even when the day is all about him. I love my dad and the great example he has always been to me. He has taught me more than he will ever know. I look back and always think, I wish I would have listened to him more often. He was always right when giving advice, although I didn't listen due to my complete stubbornness! I love you dad! You are the best the best a girl could ever ask for!

Weekend at the Wakefield's

Cole is always a big help when we go to his parents house, but he is also a turd and wouldn't let me take a picture of him. So all I have is this goofy one. Ha ha the joke's on you Cole!!

It's been about a month ago, but we spent a weekend at Cole's parents' house to try and help Dan (Cole's dad) out after his neck surgery and to let them see how Brooklyn is growing so fast. She loved every minute of it. Brooklyn loved their dog Gunner and would kick and giggle every time he got near her. We had so much fun visiting and getting out of town.

Best Friends

Brooklyn loves when her cousin Bodee (Ryan's little boy) comes up to play with her. She tries so hard to keep up with him and wants to be able to run along just like he does. Bodee is so cute with her I just love it when they can get together.

Such a Big Girl!!

Brooklyn is growing so fast and is such a wonderful little spirit in our lives. She reminds me daily how fortunate I am to have such a beautiful and healthy little girl. Brooklyn is sitting up on her own now and really loves to play with balls, which is okay with me. You gotta start 'em out young!! ;)

Blessing Day

Cole blessed Brooklyn on Saturday the 28th. It was such a special day for our family and for Brooklyn. Cole gave her the most beautiful blessing and I am so proud of him and the example he is to me and all around him. Bishop Wilker and Janice were there among much of my family. Unfortunately Cole's family couldn't make it. Camron is out of town working in Missouri and Dan has to have surgery tomorrow on his neck. But we want everyone to know how much we appreciate all of their support and can't wait to see everyone when we go through the temple next month.

Cabelas

We took a little family outing and went to Cabelas to show Brooklyn the fish and all of the animals. We got there just in time for the Cabelas staff members to start feeding the fish so they were all really rambunctious. Brooklyn loved the fish and kept trying to grab them through the glass. It was so much fun to watch her get excited and she loved the atmosphere of Cabelas. There was definitely a lot to keep her entertained. She loved seeing all the animals and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the stuffed moose that she could sit on.

Kissin' Cousins...

Ryan, Sara, and Bodee came to Grace on Sunday for a little visit. We put Brooklyn in her jumper and Bodee kept running over to give her hugs and kisses. They are so cute together and Brooklyn loves her cousins. She was kicking and jumping trying to follow Bodee as he'd run past her and giggle. Bodee also decided he needed to help her jump. He'd grab the straps and lift her and let her fall. Both of them had a great weekend and we can't wait until we can see them again.

Yesterday Cole was ordained to the office of an elder at church. It was such an amazing day. My dad gave him the most amazing blessing and I know that if we have faith, everything is going to be okay. I am so glad that Cole holds the priesthood and is able to bless Brooklyn. We haven't set a date yet but are ironing out the details so all our family can come. I don't want to get all preachy, but if you believe something is true, follow it with all your heart and be an example to those around you. I know I'm the last person to be giving such advice but I believe it to be true and am working on being a better example to those that I love and truly enjoy having as my family and friends.

Sew Much Fun

With Sheila Hamp's help I was able to finish getting Brooklyn's blessing dress sewn. I think it turned out pretty dang cute and I am excited to embark on more sewing projects. I really enjoyed seeing the dress come together and actually be something that she can wear.

Mmmm...Rice Cereal

Brooklyn got her first taste of rice cereal and I think she liked playing with the spoon more than she actually liked the cereal.

Check Up

Brooklyn and I each had a check up on Wednesday and it put more perspective on why I sorely need to push harder on motivating myself to workout. I won't share the gory details about my weight but I will fill you on Brook. She weighed in at 13.9 pounds which put her in the 50th percentile and measured 26 1/2 inches long and in the 82nd percentile for her length. She is growing and doing so well. Brook also got her shots which she was not happy about at all and has had a rough couple of days, but now she is back to her happy little self. Brook's bottom teeth also decided they weren't quite ready to come in and so they went back into hiding. Thank Heavens!!

4 Months Old

Brooklyn is 4 months old today and such a little ray of sunshine. She is learning so quickly how to get my attention. She starts coughing and gasping and when I run to check her she starts to giggle, knowing that her little plot worked. Such a little stinker!! But we definitely love her despite her little quirks.

Comfy?

Brooklyn has recently found her feet and loves to play with them and try and eat her toes. Lately she has been falling asleep with her feet in her hands and it just doesn't look so comfy but it doesn't seem to bother her very much.

Work It Out

My mom and I have decided to make a pact to work out together. We haven't done so well in the past but we are very determined to make it work. We were telling dad and Cole of our plans to work out, so for family home evening mom decided we should all try and do some pull ups. Mom and I couldn't even pull ourselves up, but dad and Cole made light work of it, showing us just how easy it is to do a pull up. Anyways, we didn't get much of a workout for our arms but my abs sure got a workout from all of the laughing we did.

Buddies

For the last three months Andrea and her kids have been staying at mom and dad's while she has been helping coach the girl's basketball team. Sydnee has been such a good helper when it comes to Brooklyn. She's been helping me pick out her outfits and bows and even making sure if she loses her binky that it gets washed off and straight back to Brooklyn. Lately, Sydnee has been wanting to watch "mobies" with Brooklyn and I got this cute little picture of them watching The Little Mermaid.

Something to Talk About...

Brooklyn seems to be growing up just way too fast. She has learned that she can jabber and she really lets you know it when she is in the room. Today at lunch she was showing off for Grandpa and Gerald, just talking along and acting as if we could understand her. She is such a show off until you try to get it on camera, but this is what I was able to get her to do.
