Buck Hunt

The week of Thanksgiving we went to Cole's parents house and he went on his annual deer hunt. This year was different though cause he drew a special late season hunt and so the bucks were rutting and he saw a lot of them. He got a buck the day after Thanksgiving and Brook couldn't be more proud. She reminds me daily that daddy got a deer and is a good hunter. I am pretty proud of him myself, he's such a great guy I am glad he had such an enjoyable deer season this year.

Greeley, Colorado- Here We Come!

Thursday night Cole got a transfer call from his apprenticeship. He is to check in at Sturgeon (company he'll be working for) in Henderson, Colorado at 8 am Monday morning. He got some contact information for his general foreman and will be working in Greeley, Colorado. Brook and I are going along this weekend and will spend the next couple of weeks with him. Then once we figure some logistics out I guess we will figure out what to do next. So.....until we know more, we'll be in Colorado.

Bath Time Talk

Today while giving Brook her bath she pointed to her little "boobies" and asked me what they were. I told her they were her m & m's and she just looked at me and said "Okay". So, I thought we were done with that conversation, at least for today. Then while I was getting her dressed, I pulled out the lotion and she said, "Mom, I don't want yotion on my canny bars!!". Ha ha I so didn't see that conversation going that way.

2 Year Pictures

I took Brooklyn up Cub River Canyon to get her 2 year pictures done. It is such a beautiful place. I just wish I had a more participative little girl. She did give me some pretty cute pictures though so I can't complain. Love this cute kid!!

Halloween

Brook had so much fun on Halloween. She had to be persuaded to get into her costume with a little bit of makeup. She told me that "Trick or treating is fun mom!". She went with my cousin's kids, Jensyn and Peyton. Jensyn was so funny, at every door she let everyone know that Brook is her cousin. At the very first place we went, a guy was passing out candy and gave Brook an Almond Joy. Jensyn looked at him very seriously and let him know "My cousin can't have nuts. She needs a different kind of candy." He laughed and gave Brook 3 different candy bars and asked Jensyn if they were appropriate. I apologized but was laughing so hard at Jensyn. (By the way, Brook can have nuts, we're not sure where Jens came up with that!)

Things Brook says....

Me: "Brook I love you so much."
Brook: "Sigh, Your Welcome"

Getting ready in the morning.
Brook: "You look nice" Uncontrollable laughing.
Me: "Thanks...I think."

Brook: "Mom, I want a sippy. You be right back."
Me: "I guess I'll go get that sippy."

My Birthday Girl

I can't believe how fast time flies when you have a toddler. It seems like yesterday my little Brooklyn was born. She went from an 8 pound 2 ounce sweet little princess to a 24 pound sassy little toddler. We have loved every second of Brook's short little life thus far and are looking forward to many, many more amazing moments with her.
This year for Brook's birthday, her daddy was working out of town so we took the party to him. We stayed at my aunt and uncle's house and were so grateful for how great they are to Brooklyn. She loves them so much and calls them "Papa Deff" and "Nama Damnit". They gave her the cutest little puppy for her birthday and it was so funny to watch her open it. It was in a gift bag and she pulled the tissue paper out, screamed and took off running and then yelled, "Scary!!! Don't want it!!" We looked in the bag and all you could see was hair, so I could imagine it was a little frightening, but once she found out what it was she loved it and has drug the poor little thing around since. Brook loved opening her presents and loved having her own "happy birthday cake" as she kept calling it. We got her a cake from the Marble Slab down in Jordan, Utah and it was absolutely delicious!

Baby Shower

On September 25th, my sisters, mom, and cousin, Whitney, held a baby shower in honor of my big sister, Natalie. She has waited so long for her little bundle of joy to come and we were very excited to have a party and have a celebration. I promised Natalie I wouldn't post any pictures of her but I have some of the rest of the family that were in attendance. Thank you all for coming and making the day such a joy!!!

Isn't this cake the cutest ever. One of my best friends, Becky Christensen made it!!

Fair Time

I have loved going to the Grace fair for as long as I can remember. It was kind of sad this year without a carnival and for the rodeo to be moved to the middle of the week. Cole didn't get home til Friday so we didn't get to go as a whole family, but Brook and I went to some of the happenings. On Saturday Brook rode Annie in lead line along with 5 of her cousins. I loved getting Brook all dressed up and seeing her reaction to the rodeos and her cousins. It was a great week, but I'm glad it's over. Til next year....

Camping in the Beaver Dams

Every year on the 24th of July our family goes camping on my dad's place up in the Beaver Dams. We always have so much fun and enjoy each other's company. There is always something to do from riding horses and Brandon's 4 wheelers, to hiking, and of course chasing the cows out of camp! I love this tradition and get so excited to go every year. This year Cole had to work the day we set up camp so I had to do it by myself. I had a much greater appreciation for the wonderful husband I have and for all that he does for me. Brook loved camping and going for horse rides. She even rode Cole's horse Boone, who is just starting out but proving to be a great horse.

Swimmin' at Bear Lake

We got all of the nieces and nephews together this summer and went swimming to Bear Lake. Brook is such a water baby and she loves playing with her cousins. She had a fun time but ended up not feeling so great and napped most of the day in the chair. We ended up going to Logan to the doctor that day, since it was almost the weekend and I didn't want a sick baby all weekend long. Right as we got to the door's of the instacare Brook started throwing up all over me and down my leg. Yes, it was fabulous. Try walking in flip flops full of puke. Not a fun experience. But here are some fun pictures before the yuckiness occurred.

The Fourth of July

Wow! I am really late at getting this posted! Life has been super crazy lately and we just got moved into our new place in Preston for who knows how long so be prepared for blogger mania catch up. For the 4th we went to the parade in Soda and then to the fireworks up in Idaho Falls. Brook had a lot of fun at the little carnival at the Soda park but didn't dig the fireworks so much this year. Brook got to ride on a mini Ferris wheel with Sydnee and she thought that was pretty much awesome.

Playing with Cousins!

Brook absolutely loves playing with Sydnee and Chase. Whenever we go somewhere she is always asking if Sydnee is going to be there. This morning Andrea and I went for a walk and the kids decided they needed to walk to. It was so cute. Brook grabbed Sydnee's hand and then hollered for Chase to come hold her other hand.

Later today, we pulled out the pool and let the kids have some fun. They played in the sprinker, the pool, with water guns and with a bubble gun. They played so hard and had a blast together.

Brook said she was riding the horsey!

Petting Zoo

We spent Saturday in Poky about two weeks ago with Camron, Kayla, and G & G Wakefield. Brook had so much fun playing with the dogs and going to McKee's Petting Zoo. She loves the goats and just can't get enough of all of the animals there. Unfortunately, I was a dork and forgot my camera, but I was able to snag a couple with my camera phone. In the future I will try to be better prepared. Enjoy!
